Muskie Hollow Resort Rentals Policies
Our policies have been created to provide you with a pleasant stay and make you aware of some important details prior to your visit. Please read our policies prior to reserving and booking any of our cabins or vacation homes.
ACCOMMODATIONS
-
Each cabin is individually decorated, featuring diverse amenities, specialty items and decorations.

Every effort is made to accurately describe and list the amenities for each Cabin. Muskie Hollow Resort will not be held responsible for errors, changes or matters that are out of Muskie Hollow Resort’s control, e.g. noise, construction, weather, etc.

Complaints regarding accommodations must be submitted in writing to Muskie Hollow Resort prior to checkout for considerations.
RESERVATIONS
-
Three (3) night minimum stay is required. Occasionally, last minute cancellations provide additional availabilities.

Must be 21 years of age.

b) A non-refundable deposit of $100.00 must be paid at the time you make a reservation with a valid Visa or MasterCard; however, all reservations of 5 or more days require a payment of 50% of the total rental cost at time of reservation to secure the reservation.
c) Once you complete your reservation, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to you.
d) The remaining balance will be due at check-in. (Cash or credit is accepted with a 3.5% fee for all credit cards)

Additional guests are $15/adult (age 18+). Children 0-17 are $10. A maximum of 5 people are allowed on each site.

Refunds are not issued due to inclement weather, snow or acts of God that are out of our control.
CANCELLATIONS/CHANGES
-
Cancellations of a confirmed reservation must be made by the Guest making the original reservation, not a representative of that Guest.
-
Reservations must be cancelled 14 days prior to arrival. Cancellations under 14 days and no shows will not receive a refund. The cancellation fee, if cancelled before 14 days to check-in is 20% of the total rental cost plus an additional $30 cancellation processing fee will be deducted from your deposit (no exceptions).

When within 14 days of your arrival, you may not shorten your stay.
FORMS OF PAYMENT

We accept cash, cashier's check, and Visa Credit Cards. All funds must be payable in U.S. currency.
-
All reservations require a handling fee for any credit card transactions 3.5% and will be added for credit card payments.
-
Muskie Hollow Resort will process checks only once. There is a $25 charge for checks returned for insufficient funds or account closed and guest's reservation(s) may be subject to immediate cancellation.
OCCUPANCY
-
All occupancies are strictly enforced.
-
Rates are based on 2 adults and 3 children. Additional guests are $15/adult (age 18+). Children 0-17 are $10.00. A maximum of 5 people are allowed on each site.
-
Occupancy is limited to: families, couples, friends or adults 24 years of age or older.
-
Only the number of guests paid and registered will be allowed on the property.
-
Extra visitors will be charged a daily rate for use of the property.
-
$15.00 per adult and $10.00 per child for visitors for any part of the day. We reserve the right to limit the number of guests. Visitor hours are 8 AM to 9 PM daily. All visitors must register at the time of check-in.

Evidence of extra guests, other than those registered, could result in maximum occupancy charges.

Exceeding the stated occupancy constitutes a breach in your agreement and will be cause for immediate termination of stay without a refund. Additional per guest charges may be added to the credit card on file.
CHECK-IN PROCEDURES

Check-in time is 3:00-9:00 p.m. Check-out time is 10:00 am
-
We have an extremely tight turnaround time frame between guests check-out and the next guests check-in. In many cases, cabins require maintenance repairs, additional cleaning time, etc.

Maps and keys to your rental cabin will be issued at check-in.

PLEASE let us know if you are NOT going to make it to the 3pm check in. We will make arrangements with you for your arrival.
CODE OF CONDUCT
Muskie Hollow Resort is a family oriented vacation spot. We want everyone to have fun, enjoy our facilities and have a relaxing stay. Please respect other campers and our facilities. Please inform all members of your party of the policies of the Muskie Hollow Resort.

To ensure that each guest has a quality camping experience, quiet hours are enforced each night from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am. During this time, please keep voices and other noises to a minimum and turn off any amplified sound. Please ensure that noise, human or otherwise, cannot be heard beyond your site boundary. At all times, please be mindful of other guests and refrain from making excessive noise. Any loud noise, which in the opinion of management could disturb others, will not be tolerated and will be handled in the appropriate fashion. In addition, all children under 18 must be at their site after 10:00 pm. These requirements apply equally to all guests and their invitees.

Parents are responsible for their children’s actions. Children are to be accompanied by an adult at the lake. All children under 18 are to be at their site during quiet hours.

Proper swim attire in the beach area is required. Cut offs and street clothes are not acceptable. Parents need to accompany children 14 years old or younger while in the beach area. There are no lifeguards on duty. Children must be in swim diapers if not trained.

Campfires are part of the camping experience and are allowed in the fire rings or in a charcoal grill only. They must be properly extinguished when not attended and must be of reasonable size so as not to endanger anyone or anything.

Alcoholic beverages are allowed in moderation at your site. No alcoholic beverages will be allowed at the beach or any other public areas. Drug use and intoxication are not tolerated.

No glass containers at the beach area.

Safe, slow driving is a must! The speed limit is 6 miles per hour. Children are at play throughout the resort. Please abide by all posted regulation signage throughout the Resort. Also remember pedestrians and bicycles have the right away.

In order to provide an appealing atmosphere for all guests, a limit of two (2) spaces has been provided at each site for vehicles and/or watercraft/trailer. All parking at the resort is restricted to the site’s parking area. Do not park on other sites. Extra vehicles must be registered and parked in designated areas.

The common areas at Muskie Hollow Resort are intended for the use and enjoyment of every guest. No guest will be excluded from any common area unless the area has been reserved for a specific group or purpose with the approval of park management. Reservation requests may be granted or withheld in management’s sole discretion and must be submitted to management at least 48 hours in advance of the reservation start time.

Do not move picnic tables from site.
SHOWER HOUSE RULES

Muskie Hollow is not responsible for lost or stolen item.
-
Item left in the shower house overnight may be removed and donated to charity
-
Be considerate of others who are waiting to use the showers. Showering quickly is appreciated!
-
Please remain properly covered while in public areas of the shower house.
-
Use of any electronic device with camera capabilities, including but not limited to cell phone, tablets, DSI Games and iPod touches, ae prohibited in the Shower House. Failure to follow this rule could result in suspension or termination of your stay at Muskie Hollow Resort.

Muskie Hollow Resort prohibits any inappropriate behavior. Please report any such behavior to Muskie Hollow staff immediately.
-
Children 6 and over must use Gender-appropriate shower house area.
RESTRICTIONS
For Your Safety and the safety of neighbors, the following items and/or activities are strictly prohibited at Muskie Hollow Resort:

Fighting or rude behavior! We are here to make wonderful memories of a great stay.
-
Fireworks – fireworks of any kind including but not limited to: Roman Candles, Sparklers, Bottle Rockets, etc.
-
Firearms – hand guns, pistols, BB guns, etc.
-
Hunting – bow or guns
-
Off Road Vehicles – ATV’s, battery or gas power, etc.
-
Fires – only fires contained in an existing fire pit are permitted. No other types of outdoor burns or fires are permitted.
-
Large parties – no large parties, gatherings or celebrations which exceed the occupancy are permitted unless reserved for a specific group or purpose with the approval of park management.
-
Do not destroy wildlife, trees, or damage property. Absolutely no cutting of live trees or removing live plants, objects, etc.
As a matter of courtesy, our guests are to exercise good sense and respect for others. This is only a partial list and by no means is limited to the above mentioned items. We ask that you respect the property and surrounding areas by not conducting any activities you would not normally do. There are no exceptions to these prohibited items/activities. Please remember that we enforce our rules to protect our guests and our resort. Management reserves the right to evict, at our discretion and without refund, any person whose conduct is objectionable or violates our policies.
DEPARTURE PROCEDURES

Check-out time is 10:00 am.
-
Post-inspections and cleaning occur after each departure by Muskie Hollow Resort housekeeping staff to ensure our Cabins are clean and maintained for the next guest.
-
Failure to comply with these departure procedures could result in an additional charge to your credit card.
-
Unauthorized late check-outs – guests may be charged up to double the daily rental fee if their departure extends past 10:00 am. (without prior approval)
-
Check out procedures – you will find this list at each unit, it must be completed and initialed before departure
-
Used dishes have been washed, dried, and put away in their original location.
-
All furniture has been returned to its original locations.
-
All food/drink has been thrown away or donated to a food bank. (Cabinets and Refrigerators)
-
All trash has been removed from can(s), bagged, and dumped in the large waste container at the entry of the resort.
-
All small appliances are off.
-
All windows and doors are CLOSED.
-
All trash and ashes are emptied from grill into trash bag, if ashes are cool.
-
Key is returned to location where it was found at check-in.
-
Smoking: While many units are non-smoking, exterior smoking is permitted at all units. The guests are responsible for disposing of EVERY cigarette butt, used match, etc. before check out. That includes items left in the yard, porch, outside ash trays, etc. All smoking debris and trash must be placed in a trash bag with the rest of the trash in the kitchen at check out.

Please leave the unit in the condition as was found at arrival.

** If the cleaning crew has to do any of the above items, the price will be deducted from the credit card on file.
MAINTENANCE/REFUNDS
-
We strive to keep all equipment in working order upon your arrival.
-
Occasionally mishaps will happen or prior guests have not informed us of an issue. Please report any inoperative equipment to the Muskie Hollow Resort office immediately.
-
Muskie Hollow Resort will make every reasonable effort in their power to have the problem corrected as soon as feasibly possible.
-
Under no circumstances will there be a reduction of rental fees or refund for loss of utilities, mechanical failure of equipment and/or appliances such as but not limited to: TV, microwave, refrigerator, toaster, etc..
-
Lakes are occasionally subject to temporary closing due to extenuating circumstances. No refund or rate reductions will be given should this occur.
-
Refunds are not issued due to inclement weather, snow or acts of God that are out of our control.
LOCK-OUT POLICY
-
In the event a guest is locked out of the cabin during their stay, guests are required to call (574) 551-0027 and leave a detailed message. A Muskie Hollow Resort representative will return the call and meet the guest at the office.

There will be a $20 service charge, $30 if a key needs to be delivered to the home. This fee will be collected at the time service is rendered.
-
You are responsible for all keys given to you for your rental cabin. If you do not return the keys at the time of your departure, you could be charged a fee to change the locks and make new keys.
PERSONAL PROPERTY
-
Muskie Hollow Resort will not be responsible for personal items left behind in the home. If your lost item has been found, you must send a prepaid envelope or package for return shipment of lost items. No CODs.
PETS
Absolutely NO pets are permitted in or on Muskie Hollow Resort properties, no exceptions will be made.

Indiana laws in regards to SERVICE ANIMALS are followed. (SERVICE ANIMALS MUST HAVE PROPER PAPERWORK, WEAR THEIR SERVICE VEST AND BE ON A LEASH AT ALL TIMES)
SMOKING
-
NO SMOKING - NO EXCEPTIONS! The cabins are NON SMOKING and it is strictly forbidden to smoke inside the cabins. Smoking is permitted outside and away from the Cabins.
-
Please discard cigarettes and butts in ashtrays and/or garbage. Do not throw butts in the yard, garden or fire pits.
-
Smoking in a cabin will result in a levy of no less than $300 cleaning fee and charged to the guest’s credit card for odor abatement.
SECURITY DEPOSIT/DAMAGES
-
Guests are responsible for any damages or theft during their stay. A valid credit card must be provided for compensation of all damages and theft.
-
Please report any damage upon occurrence.
-
Charges to Guest's card may include, but are not limited to: damages over and above normal wear and tear, theft, excessive cleanup, unreturned keys, unauthorized late check-outs and unwarranted service calls.
-
If a fee is charged, correspondence via letter/email will be sent to the Guest explaining the reason, outlining the details and the charges.
-
Should the Guest dispute the charges or the credit card limit is not sufficient to cover the charges, Muskie Hollow Resort reserves the right to charge the Guests with vandalism and pursue collection from the Guest, with venue being in the Kosciusko County, State of Indiana. All reasonable attorneys’ fees will be at the expense of the Guests should collection become necessary.
SUBSTITUTION/NON-AVAILABILITY

Should the confirmed vacation cabin become unavailable for any reason whatsoever, Muskie Hollow Resort will make every effort to inform the Guest immediately upon their notification that the cabin is unavailable. We will make every effort to notify our guests prior to check-in whenever possible.
-
Every attempt to relocate Guest to a comparable cabin will be made, unless Guest requests a full refund, in which case all monies will be refunded.
TELEPHONES
-
Cell phone service is limited or not available in some areas of Kosciusko County, depending on location and cell service provider. Muskie Hollow Resort does not guarantee that cell phones will work.
FURNISHINGS
-
Each cabin has been furnished with basic needs for housekeeping, cooking, etc.
-
Paper products, condiments, and cleaning supplies are not provided.
-
When available, firewood may be purchased from Muskie Hollow Resort for cabins with approved outside fire pits, please plan on bringing your own.
FAIR HOUSING
Muskie Hollow Resort conducts business without respect to race, color, religion, sex, national origin or handicap.
GUEST LEGAL DUTY, RESPONSIBILITY AND RELEASE

Guest assumes all risks and danger incidental to the activity of camping in a rustic outdoors environment, including specifically, but not exclusively; the danger of being injured by insects or other animals, of being injured while participating in recreational activities, such as hiking, swimming or boating at the Muskie Hollow Resort or of being injured as a result of inclement weather conditions, and agrees that the Muskie Hollow Resort and its owners, agents and employees are not liable for injuries or property damages resulting from such causes.

Guest shall conscientiously and prudently take good care of the premises during and related to the Guest's use and occupancy.
-
Guest shall exercise safe conduct and comply with this agreement and the Rules of the premises.

Guest shall actively and effectively supervise and control activities occurring on or related to the premises.
-
Guest hereby fully assumes the duties and accepts sole and exclusive legal responsibilities relevant to Guest's use, occupancy, and supervision of activities.
-
Guest also hereby fully RELEASES and agrees to hold HARMLESS the Owner of the premises fully compensated and defended for all damages arising from or related to conditions, acts, or omissions directly or indirectly arising from or related to Guest's use, supervision and/or occupancy of the premises and for any related harm to the premises during Guest's occupancy.
IMPORTANT NOTES

Please remember you are coming to the lake...it is enjoyable, beautiful and very quiet. Here are some guidelines to help you enjoy your visit:

Bring sunscreen, bug repellant, etc. If you are allergic to insects or pollen be sure to bring your antihistamine.
-
Our country critters occasionally greet our guests: Wasps, Ticks, Spiders, Skunks, Opossums, Raccoons, Snakes, Bats, ducks and frequent turtle. Always be aware of them and respect their boundaries. Muskie Hollow Resort cannot control Mother Nature or her critters!
-
There is NO lifeguard at duty at any time, swim at your own risk. Please keep a constant eye on your children, especially near the lakes during your visit.
